Inclusive Green Energy Africa has begun the delivery of portable solar water pumps to smallholder farmers in Mchinji, marking a significant step towards improving irrigation and boosting agricultural productivity in the region.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Mzunga Kamodzi, praised the initiative, stating, “This is a good initiative as it will increase our yields by easing irrigation. The portable solar pumps will make a big difference for our farms.”
Mr. Kamodzi also expressed gratitude for the flexible payment terms, noting that farmers can pay for the pumps in installments, giving them ample time to manage their finances.
In addition to providing the technology, Inclusive Green Energy Africa has committed to supporting farmers in addressing market challenges. “The market for our produce has always been a challenge. Inclusive Green Energy Africa is promising to help identify offtakers who will purchase our products as part of their after-sales support, allowing us to earn higher profits,” Mr. Kamodzi added.
This initiative is expected to empower smallholder farmers, increase agricultural yields, and strengthen market access for their produce, contributing to sustainable rural development in Malawi.
